A densely flavored and robust fortified red wine.

Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are collected from clay and gravel orchards in Aydie. After removing the stems and crushing the grapes, they are allowed to macerate in wooden tanks at a cool temperature for a few days. After the fermentation starts, it is stopped by adding strong alcohol to the wine. The wine matures for 24-36 months in large oak barrels before bottling. Residual sugar 109 g/l.

Usage: As such, at the end of a meal or as a companion to dark chocolate.

Description: The dark scent has crowberry and blueberry. Perceptible tannins balance the sweet fruitiness and the whole leaves a balanced but drying aftertaste.

The Madiran region of southwestern France is known for dark and tannic wines made from a variety called Tannat. To the area the calcareous clay soil is favorable for the vine and thus Tannat as a variety enjoys a habitat that, thanks to its southern location, also allows the grapes to ripen to their full potential.
