Abril is a Navarra blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon produced using organic methods.
Terroir, method of production and maturation: The grapes used for the wine are hand-picked and come from groves inside the largest desert in Europe, Las Bardenas Reales. The temperature fluctuations between night and day are large, which thickens the skins of the grapes and is thus also clearly visible in the very dark color of the wine. The stems are removed from the bunches, but the grapes are not crushed, so they are allowed to ferment whole, allowing partial carbon dioxide fermentation. Fermentation takes place max. 24°C in cement tanks. After pressing, the wine matures in tanks until it is bottled without clarification through light filtration.
Use: A versatile food and companion wine that goes well with pasta dishes, pizza and various meat and vegetable dishes.
Description: Fresh spicy and ripe berry aroma. Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Long, relatively fresh and balanced aftertaste dominated by juicy cherry.
