Finca de la Rica

Finca de la Rica

Finca de la Rica is a winery founded in 1989 in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa, run by brothers Arturo and Javier Amurrio together with Luis López González and Ignacio Uruñuela de la Rica. The Amurrio brothers are wine growers in the Alavesa region already in the fourth generation. Javier is in charge of working in the garden while his brother Arturo refines the grapes into wine to drink. Luis and Ignacio are opposites of each other, with Luis calm and cool, while Ignacio is hot-blooded and fanatical about the project in the Spanish style. All four men are united by a passion for viticulture, wines and human relationships, and the friends feel that their project is more about following their passion and enjoying it than work.

The farm consists of 39 hectares, which are divided into 34 different plots. The average age of the ropes is about 45 years. The farm's pear grape variety is Tempranillo, although the family also owns almost a hundred-year-old Grenache vines. In addition to red varieties, white Viura is also grown in the nurseries.

The wine labels are inspired by childhood memories and refer to searching, being guided and traveling.
