Cantina Offida

Cantina Offida

Stretching from the Adriatic coast to the rolling hills inland, the Marche province is often called Italy's secret paradise – the Marche is like Tuscany, but smaller and without the tourist hordes. The area is especially known for its white wines, which are made from the local Verdicchio and Pecorino varieties.

The Cantina Offida winery is located in the village of the same name, about 20 km inland from the coast. The house, which started as a cooperative in the 1970s, is now privately owned, as a group of local winegrowers bought the farm in 2010. They started extensive modification and repair work in the barns and cellars with the aim of piloting the farm towards the center of Marche quality wine production.

In addition to the local white grape varieties, Cantina Offida cultivates the red varieties Montepulciano and Sangiovese and, to a lesser extent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The cooperative's vineyards are located approximately 300 meters above sea level.
