Campelo
Vinho Verde is located in the northern part of Portugal, where the influence of the Atlantic on viticulture is considerable. The granite soil, mild climate and abundant rains are reflected in the wines of the region as freshness, lightness and elegance. The area is divided into nine different sub-areas, in four of which Campelo's family farm also produces its wines. The regions of Cávado, Ave, Amarante and Região de Paiva produce wines that taste close to the sea. The grapes of Casal Miranda Loureiro, which can be found in the wine selections, grow in Cávado.
Originally founded as Joaquim Miranda Campelo & Filhos, the winery changed hands in 2007 when José Carlos Lima & Sons, father and three brothers, took over the farm. Their desire is to produce youthful and modern wines in Vinho Verde that embody the connection between the land, the vine and the people. Apart from the Vinho Verde region, the family business also produces wines in the Douro and Porto, Dão, Tejo and Alentejo. The winery located in Barcelos, Vale do Ave, Vinho Verde has its own orchards of 100 hectares, in addition to which the orchard areas of the partners cover approximately 500 hectares. With the Lima family, Campelo wines can be found in up to 30 different countries around the world.
The farm's annual production is about 8 million bottles.
