Powerful and ripe Grüner veltliner from a sunny and warm vineyard.
Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are hand-harvested from a plot facing south, whose soil is gneiss. The average age of the vines is 28 years and the planting density is 5000-6000 vines per hectare. The grapes are allowed to macerate for 1-4 hours before they are compressed pneumatically. The wine ages in 500-4500 liter steel tanks and oak containers at 23-26°C. Malolactic fermentation is not allowed. The wine matures on the lees for 9 months without bâtonnage.
Use: As a companion to fatty fish and pork chops.
Description: Strong aroma with ripe fruitiness and a hint of spice. The dry and rich taste is refreshing, the fruitiness is layered and the aftertaste is lingering.
