Top plot Kastanienbusch's Grosses Gewächs-classified riesling. A real Pfalz classic!
Terroir, method of production and ripening: The grapes are obtained from the red slate land of Kastanienbusch, which faces south and is the highest Grosses Gewächs classified vineyard in the Palatinate. The wine is made from the best vines in the vineyard. The grapes are picked by hand and the wine is made with natural methods over time. The skins of the grapes are allowed to drain for 24 hours before fermentation. The wine ferments spontaneously in steel tanks, and the wine is not manipulated at any stage of the production process. Residual sugar 1.2 g/l, acids 7.1 g/l.
Use: As a companion to dishes rich in umami.
Description: Strong, but still restrained scent. The taste is very dry, while the fruitiness makes the wine full and powerful. The lees maturation brings width to the wine, which is sharpened by the crystal clear and rich acidity. Very long maturation potential.
