A ruthlessly good spätburgunder from one of Germany's most awarded producers.

Terroir, method of preparation and maturation: Sankt Paul is part of the Pfaffenberg estate directly behind the small Sankt Paul castle. In the official Grosses Gewächs classification, however, the plot is considered to belong to Sonnenberg, which is slightly further north, which is also classified as GG. The square got its name already in the 15th century from the Sistine monastery of the neighboring town of Wissemburg. The soil is almost pure limestone after a thin, approx. 20-30 cm deep topsoil. The vineyard's conditions are considered optimal for growing Pinot Noir, and this monopoly vineyard produces Germany's most awarded and prestigious red wines in recent years. The grapes were collected by hand and the wine aged in open wooden vats. Aging for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Use: For grilled meat and strong cheeses.

Description: The rich scent is deep and has aromas of spices, smoke and cherry. The taste is intense, oaky and long. The whole is supported by good acidity and firm tannins.
