A wonderful value for money Pinot Noir from 40-50 year old vines growing in the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin.
Terroir, method of production and maturation: The grapes are harvested by hand from four plots, one of which is located in Chassagne-Montrachet and faces east, and three in Saint-Aubin facing north. The vineyards were planted in 1970 and 1979. The wine is made using traditional methods and it ages in cement tanks. The wine matures for 12 months in 1-4 year old oak barrels.
Use: Whole with grilled whiting and roasted cherry tomatoes.
Description: The scent has ripe cherry, raspberry and earthiness. The fruity taste filled with red berries gets depth from the spiciness brought by the oak, and elegant tannins and noticeable acidity bring a fine balance to the wine.
