1.–2.2 of political strikes. impact on Posti's services - the aim is to return to the normal situation as quickly as possible after the strikes end
Several trade unions have said that they plan to organize political strikes on 1-2 February 2024 widely throughout Finland in several different industries, which will last one or two days. Political industrial action is related to disagreements between the Finnish government and the trade union movement.
- The Postal and Logistics Union PAU and the Automotive and Transport Workers' Union AKT have also said they will participate in political strikes.
- We are prepared to handle the situation and we will do everything we can to ensure that the customer impact remains as short-term and small as possible. We strive to ensure that our services are quickly normalized after the industrial action.
Posti's current preliminary assessment is that between 1.–2.2. political strikes cause delays in transmission as follows:
- Delays in the passage of packages and freight transport can be a few days
- Regarding warehouse services, we operate as normally as possible with those people who are at work
- If shipments cannot be delivered due to political strikes, they will be taken care of and stored properly. Dispatches related to health and safety are restricted outside of strikes.
We are actively monitoring the situation and if there are changes in the estimates, we will inform the customers about them as soon as possible.
