A powerful and intense Cabernet Franc from the sandy loam country.
Terroir, method of production and maturation: The grapes are hand-harvested from about 40-year-old vines north of the village of St-Nicolas, from the orchards of La Mineraie and Les Malgagnes. The yield of the orchards is about 35hl/ha. The grapes are sorted twice and the stems are removed, but the grapes are not crushed. The wine is macerated in open oak barrels for about 4-5 weeks. The wine is allowed to mature for 8-10 months in wooden vats and in egg-shaped containers made of sandstone.
Use: As a partner for game shaking and lingonberry sorghum.
Description: The dark-toned aroma signals the intensity of the wine. The taste is relatively strong and broad, the tannins are felt, and the long aftertaste promises a delicious future for the wine.
