Saperavi made in dark kvevri from the grape's birthplace.

Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are collected by hand from the Kakheti region. They are crushed and put directly into kvevris earthenware vessels, where the wine ferments with the help of a natural yeast strain and matures for 3 months. The wine is not clarified or filtered.

Use: For stroganoff.

Serving temperature: 16°C

Description: A slightly wild and aromatic scent with ripe dark fruitiness, such as black raspberry. The rich acidity that suggests volatility makes the wine very fresh and easy to enjoy.



Although Koba Kvatchrelishvili founded the Naotari winery together with his sons Rezo and Alex only in 2012, the family has been making wines using traditional kvevres for a long time. Located in the town of Kvareli, in the eastern part of Georgia, the family-owned 3-hectare vineyards cultivate the white varieties Kisi, Khikhvi and Rkatsiteli, as well as the red Saperavi.
