Fresh and aromatic in Xarel-lo Azul y Garanza from the impressive María Barrena.
Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are collected by hand from 80-year-old vines at an early stage of the harvest, when the natural acidity of the grapes is high. For the wine, only the first part of the light pressing is used and the wine ages at 20°C in steel tanks. The wine is allowed to clarify by itself on mature lees for 2 months. No malolactic fermentation. The image on the label refers to María and Josep's thoughts, which are constantly filled with grapes and wine.
Use: Fish and shellfish dishes.
Description: The open scent is very aromatic and especially aromas of citrus fruits, apples and pears, as well as florality stand out. In the mouth, the dry wine is fresh, pleasantly acidic and slightly mineral. It also has the bitterness typical of Xarel-lo. The taste world follows the aromas promised by the scent.
