Powerful full-bodied Cabernet Franc from the grapes of one vineyard.

Terroir, production method and maturation: The grapes are hand-harvested from approximately 50-year-old vines on the 2-hectare slopes of Saint Nicolas de Bourgeoil. The yield of the shelter is 30hl/ha. The soil is very clayey and grass grows in the paddocks. The grapes are picked by hand and sorted twice. When removing the stems, the grapes are not crushed. The wine is macerated in open oak barrels for about 5 weeks. The wine matures for 13 months in 75% oak barrels and 25% in egg-shaped containers made of sandstone.

Use: With strong and spicy meat dishes.

Description: Full and strong aroma, with both dark ripe fruitiness, spiciness and paprika. The taste is dense and oriented, the tannins are noticeable but ripe, and the intense fruitiness promises the wine a long life.

Yannick Amirault's grandfather Eugene was one of the other farmers in Touraine, taking care of fruit trees, asparagus, vines and a few cows on his farm. The post-war industrial revolution in agriculture brought with it chemical fertilizers, causing principled and philosophical conflicts between generations.
