Riesling from the iron-rich Nonnengarten plot.

Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are collected from the Nonnengarten plot in the village of Pünderich, which faces southwest. The plot could be published as part of Marienburg's Grosses Gewächs nursery, but Rita and Clemens think that its potential does not quite rise to the level of Fahrlay and Falkenlay. The soil is mainly iron-rich, red slate. The wine ferments spontaneously in large 1000-liter old oak barrels, where it also matures. Residual sugar 6.8 g/l, acids 6.5 g/l.

Use: As a companion to Thai soup.

Description: The open aroma is ripe citrus, peach and somewhat spicy. The spiciness is also present in the dry taste, where the acidity acts as a supporting structure behind the juiciness.

Clemens Busch

The 15-hectare family estate of Clemens Busch, founded in 1802 in Pünderich, on the border of the Middle and Lower Mosel, underwent the last generational change in 1986. The husband and wife couple Clemens and Rita, together with their son Johannes, are responsible for the production of the wines, which are among the first certified organic wines in the region.
